I can see you…

Via Iain Dale I have been reminded of this amazing collection of London aerial photos by Jason Hawkes. I think I may have linked to it before. On the picture I have featured, you can see exactly where I live! Impressive, eh?! If you look closely enough you can probably see the stack of dirty plates on the kitchen counter.

London is a very pretty city, in parts. There are some excellent vistas, historic buildings and brightly-lit streets. There are also some very lonely places, which – strangely enough – the camera rarely rests on. If you are lucky, you will only ever pass these places without realising. One the outside they look like normal streets, but scratch beneath the surface and you will find all sorts of eye-opening activity. Many visitors to London only see the shiny, well-managed facade. Many commuters take the smooth but leave the rough for others to deal with. For me, London is about the good bits and the bad bits. You will never push me out of the inner city.

You clearly love London. You are fortunate to live where you want to live. There are indeed many pretty places. I like Kensington gardens, which was recommended to me and the person was correct in their judgement – I loved it.

Philipa I do, which is why it depresses me to see so many problems which could be solved if the will was there.
