My three loyal readers will remember that when I moved to my own server I promised to give up my stats addiction. Well I have. Well at least I am not addicted anymore. However I have recently noticed an upswing in the number of interesting comments left so I thought it would be interesting to see whether that is a result of existing readers dipping their toes into the commenting water or if it is a genuine increase in circulation.
All I will say is that the number of “hits” has been increasing. I won’t say by how much or to what level, just remember that an increase of one per month would be a large percentage.
What I will say is that over the last month these posts have been the most popular:
A blogger’s right to anonymity?
Blue Eyes is a liar
Will the last productive person to leave New Britain please turn out the lights
Does that make me a libertarian?
Whatever happened to Gold Top?
Thank you for coming. Blogging is no fun if nobody interacts. I always welcome new commenters, especially if they agree with me… I hope I can hold your attention.
Particular thanks to Julia, Raedwald, HG, Hoggers and Mr Patently for sending your visitors my way. Every clickle helps!

Glad to be of service! Keep up the good work..
You post good stuff … I’ll link to it!
“just remember that an increase of one per month would be a large percentage.”
Well, if the Prime Minister says that 0% is an increase then an increase of one reader would be 6,089%
Julia –
Patently – I try my best!
BQ – 6089% – or more! How can anybody make the mistake of saying “none” when they meant “some”? Gordon is a Moron.
You have me too, Blue, as a loyal reader. I visit your site daily, although I don’t always comment.
I am mostly in accord with what you say and admire your honesty and tenacity. I often think you’d make a first class politician but then again you’re much too honest.
Have a good weekend,

Every day! Go to the top of the class!
Are you being a little bit modest about your stats, BE? You certainly get a lot more comments on your blog than I do and I get around 3000 unique visitors a month – with another 1200 or so returning visitors. Not a huge number, I admit, but more than I’d ever expected!
I don’t always agree with you, but I like your blog and admire the way you write – always clear and eloquent.
‘Top of the class’ Blue….does that mean I can give out the pencils?
Ha! I don’t suppose you know the significance of that comment.
Well, in my early school days, in the fifties, we were all given a finely
sharpened pencil at the start of each lesson, which was collected after
the lesson was over, this duty was usually
performed by ‘teachers pet’ who would invariably be ‘top of the class’.
Needless to say ,I was never afforded that priviledge!

Hey Trubes we had that in the 1980s as well. I was always begging to sharpen pencils. I had no sense of wanting to be “cool” as was definitely a teacher’s pet!! We had this brilliant “industrial” pencil sharpener which had a turning handle. Happy days.
Stan – I get nowhere near that many hits. Perhaps I am lucky to have verbose readers?!
