If, like me, you missed seeing the fireworks in person in Central London or at the time on the telly, I really must insist that you watch them now on your computer. I’ve never seen anything quite like it.
I’ve got this awful, deep-seated fear that Britain and London are getting quite good at this stuff! Contrast with the “Millennium” celebrations…

They must have got some Aussie’s on the job. The fireworks in Sydney have been incredibly for years and there is a display ever Saturday night (not on the bridge) during the summer.
The London organisers could well have got some designers/project managers over from Sydney. Why not?!
Many thanks for the link, Blues!
As would be expected, Both of us slept soundly through the whole damn lot…;0(
Happy New Year to you anyway, and all power to your elbow in 2013
It was brilliant. Most likely Chinese fireworks as well as the Australian designers/project managers… and other people’s money to pay for it.
Yes. All of that does matter. And it is notable that when we were more economically secure we didn’t feel the need to do it.
Happy New Year ! (Incase I haven’t said it already)
EK you are allowed to enjoy things occasionally. Try it. You might feel (and sound) less like a cantankerous old misery who hates everything.
My blog is full of posts where I’ve praised people, their efforts and their talents.
Yes. I’ve been a misog on this one. I’m sure the TV version was better than what a lot of people who were there saw.
I just can’t help thinking of bread-&-circuses when it comes to this type of thing – especially if there are politicians behind it.
